University and Industry both play a vital role for the development of the country’s economy. There is a need for close interaction between these two. To fine-tune the academic delivery to ever changing requirements of the industry, knowledge sharing and catalyzing joint activities between the two are essential. There is an urgency to integrate the University system with Industry inputs, design curriculum on the advice of industry, knowledge and practical experience sharing from industry, faculty sabbaticals in industry and encourage industry driven research. This will make students ready for industry and help them to gain relevant industrial knowledge through flexi learning modules, quality course ware, curriculum in tune with industry needs, project work, contact programmes delivered by senior academics and experts from industry. JNTU Hyderabad has been a pioneer in promoting industry-academia interaction since 1972, and the range and scope of activities have been steadily growing. The University attaches a great deal of significance to these activities and is creating avenues for facilitating its growth. In this endeavor JNTUH is established a Directorate as University Industry Interaction Cell (UIIC). Industry interactions relating to Basic and Applied Sciences, Pharmacy and Social Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and Management etc come under the umbrella of University Industry Interaction Cell. The main focus of UIIC is to bridge the gap between Industry requirements and Academic delivery. UIIC is a single window to look after students employability, faculty quality and career up gradation of industry employees and other awareness programs with Industry. The UIIC carry forward the interaction of University with the industrial bodies both public and private sector, IT, ITeS, core industries and reputed MNCs Government organizations, R & D organizations, MSMEs etc.,
